RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
Today there were a few moments of sunshine and we decided to go out and have some fun in the backyard. Ollie loved the freedom of walking around the yard and climbing up the slide. He loved going down the slide too. He also really enjoyed going in and out of the little play house.

Below is a video of the little guy. Notice when he says "hi" it sounds like a long, southern accent. He always does it that way and it's very cute. I guess he's embracing his southern roots.

4/16/08 - OLLIE HAD A LITTLE LAMB, LITTLE LAMB...

RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
Oliver has been coughing through the night for almost 3 weeks now. But in the day time he only occasionally coughs. And he always seems chipper. So, we didn't think we should be alarmed and figured he just had a nagging cold. But after 3 weeks of it I decided to take him to the pediatrician.

Dr. Mason says that Ollie doesn't appear to be sick but possibly has allergies that are causing him to cough. It's hard to tell if the allergies would be caused by pollen or rather by dust mites. So he suggested removing pillows and stuffed animals from his bed.

Well, we can easily remove almost all the stuffed animals. But Ollie is quite attached to his little lamb. He snuggles with that thing all the time. He loves his lamby. And taking it away would be so sad. But, fortunately the Dr. said that as long as we run it through the wash regularly it will be fine. So that's our plan. Keep little lamby but keep him clean. Here is a picture of Ollie and his lamby from today. Thank you to Uncle David, Aunt Mary Ann, and Cousin Deb for gifting us the lamby. As you can see...he loves it!

4/11/08 - BEACH PLAY, WALKING, AND SEPARATION ANXIETY

RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
Oliver really enjoyed playing on the beach in Seaside, Oregon. He's been to a beach before but this was the first time he was old enough to actually play.

Daddy had fun trying to build sand castles faster than Ollie could knock them down. In the end Ollie won.

Occasionally the boys wanted their watering can filled up with water and when Mommy would head to the ocean to fetch more water, Ollie would lose it (see picture!). He would cry and chase after Mommy. I guess he's got a bit of separation anxiety.

Speaking of chasing after Mommy, Oliver is now a proficient walker. (I will add video of this later.) He took his first tentative steps on 3/21/08 and has just continued to build his skills. He still topples over occasionally but for the most part he's a movin' man. And this child gets in to everything. You turn your back for 1 second and he has created a vast path of destruction. It keeps things interesting.

Ollie is also talking more and his favorite thing to say these days is "hello". He sat on the beach waving at birds, dogs, and joggers saying "hello, hello, hello". It's very cute.

4/1/08 - SIDEWALK CHALK AND SUNSHINE

RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
Today the sun actually shined! Woo hoo! After big brother Orion returned from school he said he wanted to go out in the sunny day. So, even though it was quite cold, we ventured out with some sidewalk chalk.

Ollie started out in his exersaucer but once he saw the fun Orion was having with the sidewalk chalk he wanted in on the action.

When Daddy returned from work we all went and had a family dinner night out at Johnny Rockets in the mall. Then Orion and Ollie played for a short while at the mall toys. Oliver was actually inspired to walk more and walked from toy to toy at the mall. He was wobbling like a drunken sailor, but a darn cute drunken sailor! It won't be long before he's taking off with no fear.
