Christmas Day finally arrived. Big brother Orion was the first to wake us all up. He came into our bedroom and asked if Santa had come. He was afraid that Santa might still be in the house. So, Daddy did a quick scan of the house while Orion huddled in the bed with Mommy.

Then we went down and opened gifts. Ollie really liked digging out things from his Christmas stocking. He would take stuff out, put it back in, and take it out again. It was fun to see our boys playing on Christmas morning.

We had a great extended family vacation in Leavenworth, WA. Little Ollie loved crawling around a huge house with lots of carpet. He was constantly on the go. Here he is sitting at a big table eating breakfast. Behind him are the beautiful snow covered birch trees. It was a very picturesque setting for a Christmas gathering.

Oliver finally made it into the big boy bath. He really loves having all of that water to splash with. Our little guy is growing up so fast. If only we could keep him as a little baby forever!

Happy Birthday little Ollie. Oliver is 1 yr old today. We immediately find out how hard it is for his December birthday to not get ignored because of the whirlwind of Christmas activity. Poor kid.

We officially didn't celebrate until December 19th. That day Grandma had taken big brother Orion to her house for the day/night and we had time to focus just on Ollie.

We got him a piece of lemon cake and let him dig into it. He seemed to like the mess more than the actual cake which is no huge surprise. It just proves more how much of a non-eater he is. What kid doesn't like cake? (answer: both of our kids!)

As far as milestones, Ollie has been doing a lot of pointing to things lately and trying to label them. The cutest thing is that when he sees the Christmas tree he points with his little finger and says "twi twi twee". Oh, it's so adorable and just makes you want to squeeze him! We love our little Ollie. Thank you Lord for a great first year with the best Christmas gift we ever received (besides Jesus, of course)

12/11/07 - SLUMBER AND SANTA

We are so happy that Daddy returned safely from his trip to Chicago and Nashville. We missed him immensely.

Tonight was the annual neighborhood Christmas party. We prepared Orion over and over about seeing Santa. But when we got there he was scared to death and Santa hadn't even arrived yet. When he finally did, Orion hid in the corner of the room and refused to come close.

Ollie, who probably would have been willing to meet Santa, slipped into a deep slumber while in the baby bjorn. Mommy decided to take him to meet Santa anyway in case it enticed his big brother to come closer. It didn't. So, here is the only Santa picture of either boys that we have this year. Maybe next year will be more successful.

Ollie's new thing is that he likes to pull up on the bathtub while Orion is taking a bath and try to grab his bath toys out of the bath. Orion enjoys the attention but doesn't enjoy the sharing of toys.

Ollie's personality is blossoming. He has these fake, babbling conversations with himself and it's very cute. Last night he even had a fake, heated conversation with a picture of Daddy that was on Carol's fridge. He apparently had a lot to reprimand Daddy about after being left with a crazy brother and a frazzled mom!
