2/24/08 - TWO SICK BOYS IN A BOX

RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
My sweet boys are both sick. They sounded like dueling coughing machines last night. I didn't know who to tend to first. They seem to be getting better gradually but right now they are at the phlegmy, coughing, snotting stage. It's grossness around here.

Here they are playing in a plastic box. Actually, they are fighting over the green ball. Oliver is quite obsessed with balls ("ball" was the first word he ever said at 7 months old). If he sees one he just has to have it. It's an uncontrollable urge. Someday he might really enjoy that ball pit at Ikea!

Well, we miss you Daddy. Day 5 without you and the time is slowly creeping by. Come back soon and play with us!

2/22/08 - MISTER UH-OH

Oliver has a fever and is fussy. His temp got as high as 103.8. But now it's gone back down a bit so hopefully he will be on the mend. But he has been one cranky little fella and very clingy, making Mommy's days even more complicated.

In between his crankiness he has happy, playful moments. His latest thing to say is "uh-oh" when he drops things. Although now he purposefully drops everything and says it. When he says it though, it sounds more like "uh-oooo". It's darn cute. Check out this video below.

2/20/08 - LOUD SQUEALIN' OLLIE

RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
Ollie is quite the vocal and rather loud child at times. We thought he was such a quiet child but it turns out he was just muted by that binky (pacifier) that he always insists on having in his mouth. But if you take that thing away the volume of this child is quite evident.

Today while Orion was still at school, Ollie happened upon big bro's window gels. This was thoroughly amusing to him. Check out the video below to appreciate his enthusiasm. He even whistles for a brief nanosecond.

2/14/08 - VALENTINE'S BROTHERLY TORTURE

RETURN TO ORION'S BLOG
It's so unavoidable. At some point, no matter how much our two boys love each other, they will fight and tear each other apart.

My sister and I used to fight like this. She, who had finger nails that had not been bitten to a nub like mine, would sink her talons into me. I, however, would go for the hair pulling. One good fistful was enough to do memorable damage. I even kicked a hole through her bedroom door once. In my defense, it was quite flimsy construction and I doubt I put much effort into it.

And even though Ollie is only slightly over a year old, the sharing of the toys battle has commenced. Orion constantly insists that we either put Oliver down for a nap, in his high chair, or in his play pen to prevent him from meddling with Orion's precious stuff. Oliver, however is a growing, moving boy that no longer wants to be contained. So, let the fighting begin. Mommy will learn to referee to the best of her abilities and keep them alive.

Here is a loving, strangling Valentine's day pose with the two little darlings. I sure do love 'em.
